Home: Bovano Wall Sculptures
Our catalog has a wide selection of Bovano wall decor featuring tropical fish, marine life, reef scenes, fresh water fish, herons, pelicans, and shore birds.
Once each creation is designed, its production requires hundreds of separate procedures, painstaking skill, and attention to detail. The centuries-old enameling process is begun by placing finely ground glass powder on solid copper shapes.
Several different powders are used in combination to create individual colors, shadings, and coatings. Each piece is then heated to 1600 degrees F, resulting in a smooth, richly-colored glass coating on the copper. Finally, the separate pieces are assembled, using delicate welding techniques, into the completed sculptures. Because there is no painting involved in the Bovano process, the vibrant colors of these works of art will last indefinitely.
Bovano decorative accessories should be cared for like fine crystal. To preserve their beauty, they should be gently washed with a solution of mild soap and water, then dried with a soft cloth. Care should be taken to avoid bending the copper shapes.
